Dear
Potential Sponsor:
Once again, the Barre Town
Thunder Chickens Snowmobile club is offering a trail sponsorship
program to help
promote local businesses and raise money for the club. Monies raised will help
defray
the yearly expenditures of running our non-profit club. These expenses
include things like routine maintenance and
fuel for our Tucker Cat Groomer,
postage/mailing services, excavating, materials (lumber, barb wire,
gates,
chains, locks, trail signage), insurance, rent, trail clearing equipment
and
costs related to upkeep and service this equipment.
Our trail sponsorship program’s first year was a great success and we enjoyed
hearing all the positive
comments from riders, neighboring clubs and directly
from the VAST office based on feedback they
received. Attached, please find a
photo-copy of how the sponsorship boards appeared.
With your help, along with volunteers of the club, we are able to provide a
network of trails that allow
riders to enjoy the beautiful countryside of the Barre Town and Berlin areas. It is great to see the
growing number of families out enjoying the beauty that our state offers.
In addition to
contributing to the recreational sport of snowmobiling, our club is also
involved in several
charitable fundraisers. Once again we helped sponsor the
Make-A-Wish Ride-In held in Williamstown
raising $10,000 for Make-A-Wish of
Vermont. We worked with the organizers of the Cystic Fibrosis
Border to Border
ride that took place on January 25th where over 200 riders covered
330 miles
raising $73,000. In March we sponsored a Poker Run/Chicken-Pasta Ride
in to benefit the Travis
Mercy Memorial Skate Park at the Barre Town
Recreational Area. This event raised $1100
which
was presented to the Barre Town Select Board and used in the construction
of a new half-pipe last spring.
These events are all made possible due to having
the availability of a trail network.
The sponsorship program assists us in making that possible.
The sponsorship period is for the upcoming
riding season, December 15, 2003 through April 15, 2004 The estimated Number of
Registered Snowmobiles
in the Washington County area clubs is 2000 in addition to out of town
riders coming
through our trail system, or riding from our local hotels.
For a donation of $250 we will provide a 12”
square sign to be located at one of our trail intersections on a Trail
Sponsorship board. The sign will also appear on our website Trail Sponsorship
page
with a link to your site if applicable, along with recognition in our
newsletter.
Thanks in advance for your consideration in
support of our club. Should you have any questions,
please feel free
to contact David Rouleau 371-1279 or Greg Isabelle 802-476-7280.
Thanks Again,
David Rouleau
