Welcome to the
Barre Town Thunder Chickens
Snowmobile Club Website.

The Barre Town Thunder Chickens are happy to report that we are again able to provide the same trail network as in the past with a few modifications. We will not be able to cross Orchard Terrace this year, but will still be grooming to the Graniteville picnic area to get riders out from that side of Orchard Terrace and the Dodge Avenue area.  There will also be a change around the East Barre Dam area as well. Due to development we can not access the normal crossing point at the Dam, we can get to Route 110 in a different location and are working with our neighboring club, the Sno-Bees of Barre to connect with their territory on the other side of Route 110. We have selected Saturday Feb. 4th to host our 6th annual Poker Run to benefit the Travis Mercy Skate park at the Barre Town Recreational Area. To date, we have raised around $6000 for the park, more details
on this year's event will be forth coming.  This year, our trail system will cross the future Barre Town Bike path near the Graniteville road, although not opened yet, we are expecting x-country skiing type of activity on it this winter.  The path is not open to snowmobile traffic and the club will sign it as such along with Skier on Trail signs.  Please use extra caution when in this area. Crews have been busy out there cleaning up after our early snowfall, we have lots of downed trees and activity continues each weekend. Contact Jon Joslin at (802)476-9709 to find out where you can help volunteer on the trails.
