A special thanks to all the Land-Owners and
Volunteers.
Without your help we wouldn't be able to provide a trail system.

1/25/12 - Rain and unseasonably warm temperatures the last couple of days have not helped our thin base and coverage. Gates remain open, however riding is not recommended until further snowfall. No significant snowfall forecasted in the next few days. Farmer's Almanac predicts a big snowfall at the end of January - let's hope that it's right ! |
Below are a few of the
photos of us opening the trails this year.

It's
our 40th Anniversary !!
Our Trails Will Be Open!!
The Barre Town Thunder Chickens are happy to announce that with some good luck and hard work all of our trails are projected to be repaired and open for our 2011 - 2012 Season. We experienced significant damage with the spring flooding: virtually every branch of our system became impassable with washouts and bridge damage. Trail Master Jon Joslin, Steve Malnati, Vinny Covino and many other members jumped on the situation and hit the fields for trail evaluation. They inspected the system, tracked down materials and contractor quotes, working with Vast to get all the necessary paperwork filed and approved. We were lucky that Hurricane Irene took it a lot easier on our trails than some of our neighboring clubs. Jon and Steve have set up a schedule for trail repairs and Vinny is on the job with the heavy equipment. 2011 is our 40th Anniversary so we are no stranger to unexpected weather damage, last minute trail reroutes and all that comes with maintaining 40 miles plus of corridor trails. We have had a long tradition of dedicated members and officers willing to to do what it takes and the summer of 2011 is no exception. With their efforts despite mother nature's best shot, we will be back in business for our 40th season... so please join us for our Safety Course, Fall Raffle, Poker Run and Free Style Jumping Exhibition as we Celebrate our Anniversary and if you see one of the guys somewhere please be sure to give them a tip of the hat for making it happen once again.
